This script is for PERSONAL use only!

You are free to install this script for yourself, but it is not allowed to be used wiki-wide (e.g., in MediaWiki:Common.js or MediaWiki:Wikia.js), as it would violate Fandom's Terms of Use.
(See the customization policy)

UserTalkNotifications allows you to keep receiving notifications from a user talk page on a wiki that has enabled message walls. It defaults to the page User:Username/Talk, but can be changed.

This script uses cookies to keep track of which messages have been read, so it will not work if you have cookies disabled in your browser. Be mindful that each wiki you follow will slightly increase the page loading time.

After installation, you can go to your specified talk page on any wiki and click the Notify link in the edit drop down menu to add the page. Clicking Don't Notify will remove that talk page.

You can import the script by adding the following code to your global.js on Community Central. You can also upload it to a local JS, but the script will not work to its full extent.

importScriptPage('Mediawiki:UserTalkNotifications/code.js', 'dev');

To manually install a wiki, just edit the window.talkWikis array and add the wiki's url name. The script will do this for you automatically if you go to the talk page and click the Notify button.

window.talkWikis = ['wikiname'];
importScriptPage('Mediawiki:UserTalkNotifications/code.js', 'dev');

window.talkWikis = ['runescape','community'];
importScriptPage('Mediawiki:UserTalkNotifications/code.js', 'dev');

You can also change the name of you page you would like to use with the window.talkName variable. It is set to Talk by default. (Setting the value to Pagename would give notifications for the page User:Username/Pagename.)

window.talkName = 'Pagename';
importScriptPage('Mediawiki:UserTalkNotifications/code.js', 'dev');
