EditorSourceMinimal visually customizes the user interface of the source editor by updating the source editor icons to mimic the WDS iconset, adding spacing to the header, nullifying background gradients for minimalism and incorporating the new modal design.

The main stylesheet is best used in personal CSS only due to its length, as it applies to the normal and dark Oasis wiki themes. There are also theme-specific stylesheets suitable for wikis.

The new iconset will stylistically clash with custom edit buttons.[1]

If you wish to use the stylesheet for personal use on all wikis, add this import to your global.css page.

@import url('/load.php?debug=false&lang=en&mode=articles&articles=u:dev:MediaWiki:EditorSourceMinimal/code.css&only=styles');

The import must be at the very top of the page (with any other @import rules you may have) to work. You can also copy the contents of the MediaWiki:EditorSourceMinimal/code.css page to your personal CSS page, if you prefer.

If you wish to use the stylesheet on your wiki, add the following line to the top of your wiki's MediaWiki:Common.css page:[2]

  • For light themes:
@import url('/load.php?debug=false&lang=en&mode=articles&articles=u:dev:MediaWiki:EditorSourceMinimal/light.css&only=styles');
  • For dark themes:
@import url('/load.php?debug=false&lang=en&mode=articles&articles=u:dev:MediaWiki:EditorSourceMinimal/dark.css&only=styles');

  1. There are public-domain replacement icons available at Wikimedia Commons.
  2. If your wiki was created before mid-2014, you may need to add it to MediaWiki:Wikia.css also (see Help:Community CSS and JS#CSS for details).
